Port Chemin Vert is a district in transition.
A former five-hectare industrial brownfield located between the Saint-Denis Canal, the A86 motorway and the historic neighbourhoods of Aubervilliers, the site is now seeing the first phases of a new mixed-use district take shape.
Yet behind the construction site lies a territory that remains inhabited, shaped by complex social dynamics, temporary uses, ongoing economic activities and several rehousing operations that directly influence the project’s implementation. Our role is to support this transformation over time.
Rather than designing a new masterplan, our mission is to ensure the consistency of an urban project already underway while continuously adapting it to evolving operational conditions. Changes in land ownership, construction phasing, new development programmes, the integration of adapted housing for Traveller families, the preservation of mature trees and increasingly ambitious environmental objectives all require the project to be constantly updated.
As coordinating urban planners, we work alongside the developer, local authorities, design teams and private developers to safeguard the urban, architectural and landscape quality of the project at every stage. Every building permit, every public space and every new development parcel contributes to the gradual creation of a district that reconnects the surrounding neighbourhoods of Aubervilliers, Eli Lotar Park and the Saint-Denis Canal through a coherent landscape framework.
More than the coordination of a development zone, this mission is about guiding a living urban project—one whose success depends not only on the quality of its spatial design, but also on its ability to respond to the social, land-use and environmental transformations that accompany its evolution.
